Tuesday, March 26, 2013 "France Bound"

Family!
I am doing great and seriously I cannot wait to get to France. This week flew by and it is crazy to think that I will be in France next week. My french is not ready, but I can't wait to get there and learn like crazy. That is insane about Becca and all of those mission calls! I seriously cannot believe that, but tell them all congrats for me. If you find out any more about the calls let me know because I am so excited to hear about those.  KG has sent me a few emails and it sounds like he is doing awesome, ah he is so lucky that he got to see Kendal and go on splits with him! On that note I can't believe that Josh left this morning, that seems so crazy to me because I seriously saw him everyday. Okay, I get to host the new missionaries this week so please get a hold of Connor and have him dear elder me so I know what car he will be in and what time he is coming! That way I would be able to pick him up for sure!
Right now I think that I am set for the most part. If anything I could just use some more of those awesome ties like you sent me for my birthday (the skinny ones). Treat wise, I am pretty set as well, I am not going to be able to take very much extra weight with me on the flight because I have soooo many books, so this week we are going to finish off the stack of treats that I have right now ha ha. Thank you for the cinnamon rolls though, my district loved them. I have starting opening my packages in class so that everyone can enjoy the treats that you have been sending :)

I am doing really good though! The language is getting a little bit better, still tough, but it is getting better. I am definitely ready to leave though, although I am going to miss my teachers a ton. They are both fresh RM's and they are seriously amazing. I can't wait to talk you guys soon! One more week! Keep being the awesome family that you are! I love you all so much!

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 "Zone Tech Coordinator"

Hey Mom and Family!!!
That is so awesome and I definitely am going to have to look for Aunt Jan, I will do my morning studies out in front if I can. I am doing really good though. I am super excited because this is my second to last P Day in the MTC!! In 13 days I will be on a plane to Lyon, France! I am so excited. As for the MTC, it was about as crazy as the MTC can get. I got released as district leader... Normally they release you about halfway, but they let me stay for an extra week. Elder Crawley replaced me and he is a stud so our district is still in good hands. Not only did I get released, but I got a surprise calling during sacrament meeting to be the Zone Tech Coordinator. From what I have heard it is one of the best jobs because if you get really tired of studying you can go and help out the new districts with the computers. It was a crazy week because we just sent off all of the french missionaries who got in two weeks before us, that was a bummer because we got to be such good friends with them. They are all going to Montreal and left today, so hopefully in two years we might see them again ha ha. With that being said, we are the next french missionaries to leave from our zone. We just had almost all of our ward leave to Canada so our ward is really slimmed down right now. Luckily we will be getting two new districts this week full of french sisters and elders, so it wont be long until we are no longer in the cross hairs for giving talks and saying prayers in french during sacrament meeting.
I am so glad that Kole made it home safe! I was bummed too that I just missed him because I really wanted to see him. That is awesome though.
Thanks so much for all of the pictures, letters and packages. I have loved every single one of them.
Everything is good for me right now though!  I am really happy to be leaving the MTC though, it is hard to sit down and study for 14 hours a day, so I cannot wait to get to France and start finding some people to teach. With that being said, my french is still not the best, but based off of what I knew coming into the MTC and what I know now I have learned a ton since I have been in here. I have heard that once I get to France it will start coming a lot easier.
On our way back from the temple today there was this guy running who stopped and asked us where we were going, so we told him Lyon, France, it turns out he is really good friends with President Roney so he took a picture of our district and sent it to him! Ha ha it was awesome!
I love you all so much and thank you for everything that you do for me! The church is true!

Tuesday, March 12, 2013 "Birthday Amazing"

Family!

I thought I would start off quick by saying my birthday actually surprisingly good! Thank you so much for all that you sent me in making my birthday amazing! I loved every single thing that I got and my district was very appreciative as well. The cookies were amazing, my back scratchier is awesome, and I love the licorice and Mio water flavorings that you sent  Also, thank you so so much for all of the letters that everyone wrote for me! I loved reading them all! Mom, as for the cake, thank you so much and it did make it in one delicious piece. . . Everyone loved it and told me to thank you greatly!
As for my missionary friends, they are all doing really good! They are having a lot of fun and they loved the packages that you sent to them. I see most of them almost every day and we have gym time together so most of us play basketball together every day. I really look forward to gym.
I am doing really good right now though! I have had some ups and downs, but I am having a lot of fun with my friends and with my district. You are not going to believe this. . . but I hit my halfway point in the MTC on Sunday! Yeah, I have less days until I leave than I have been in here. When we went to San Francisco we were able to see our flight plans for when we leave the MTC, we are going to be leaving on April 1 and our flight is at 11:00 in the morning I believe. We have a few layovers so it is going to take a while to get to France, but I can't believe that it is coming that quick.
About the devotional, yeah that was an awesome one and one of my favorite ones so far. The devotionals on Tuesday nights are incredible. They always have the best speakers come and truly capture the whole audience. I always look forward to the devotionals.
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes! I love you all so much and could not be more grateful for what you do!

Tuesday, March 5, 2013 "Bonjor!"

Bonjor!
Hello family! It sounds like you are all doing awesome back at home! That is so cool for Caden's lacrosse and I love that Bubba got shoes just like mine! I am so glad that everything is still going good. I am doing really good here in the MTC, some days can be really long and really tedious, but for the most part I am having really fun. There are definitely times when I get discouraged here, especially with the language, but don't worry about me I will be fine. So it really is true what they say about the MTC, I was told that you will have the longest days and the shortest weeks. The reason that they say this, and it is completely true, is because you do the same thing everyday and everything is completely planned out for you, so all of the days blend together. Since all of the days blend together it makes one week seem like a continuous day. . .
As for my french, it is still pretty confusing, but I feel like I am improving a little bit seeing how I didn't know a lick of french when I got in here. It is really weird how the studying works here, most of it is done with just you and your companion so you have to take the initiative and learn a lot of it by yourself. It can get confusing, but they say it works so I need a little bit more faith. My district leader responsibilities are really simple in here, the only things that I have to do is pick up the mail, hold a few meetings, and go to a few extra meetings. I really like doing all of those things though because it changes your days up a little bit.

Okay, so the part that you have all been waiting for. . . San Francisco! It was so awesome. It was a ton different than everyone thought it was going to be, so it turns out it was actually just a day vacation while we got our visas! We flew out at 7 in the morning and a driver picked us up at the airport. It only took 30 minutes for all of us to get our visas and then we spent the rest of the four or five hours touring San Fran! We spent a ton of time on Pier 39, the Golden Gate bridge, and we talked to some people about the church. We ended up eating at a place called fisherman's pizza and it was really good. It was so nice to get away for the day!
Sorry I don't have a ton of time, but just remember I love you all so so much and I am doing good!
Love,

Elder Beyer
